The adventures of Sarah & Brian
Aloooooooohaaaa!
We\'ve done nothing but drink mia tais and hula dance in coconut bras since we arrived. OK perhaps not but we have been to a luau and I tried my hand, or should I say my ass, at hula dancing up on the stage. It was a poor attempt as you\'ll probably find out \'cos Brian has blackmail footage.
The weather has been a bit poor so we actually haven\'t done a great deal. We\'re staying in Waikiki on Oahu and went across to The Big Island for a few days to check out the most active volcano on earth. Unfortunately there were no lava flows to be seen close up, but you could see the steam bellowing up from where it was pouring into the sea. At night the hillside glowed orange where the lava was flowing and you could make out some orange flashes from where it went into the sea.
All the previous lava flows were in effect, making for an impressive black landscape, and we visited a black sand beach where we saw loads of green turtles. First saw some popping their beaks out of the water, then spotted one in a rock pool eating seaweed, then one started walking up the beach. It only managed to drag itself a few feet before falling asleep on the sand.
Brian has purchased some Hawaiian shirts which he will wear with pride down the Iron Duke on our return. His best moment was someone saying \'take it easy dawg\' to him hehehe quality.
Also went to Pearl Harbour to see Ben Affleck and kick his head in. Unfortunatley he wasn\'t there so we learnt some history and went out to see one of the sunken battleships where over 1000 people died, quite disturbing but interesting.
Went out on a whale watching trip and saw some tails and some dolphins flinging themselves in the air like idiots - quite far away though so no good pictures.
That\'s it in a nutshell. My work here is done.
