Leaving today. Crappy. It was up at six thirty to finish packing everything, like our pyjamas and toiletries. I didn't sleep well cause my cold was making a comeback and I kept waking up not being able to breathe properly.
Check up was interesting but in the end was sorted fairly quickly. We had a transfer arraigned to take us to the airport and Jennifer would take the second transport later in the day for her flight. This was the first time we were able to see much of Fiji in the daylight and I found it to be a really beautiful place. If you ignore the people. The land itself makes it hard to see what is cultivated land and what isn't. While all the houses look really run down and ramshackle, strangely it looks sort of appropriate. That might just be my preconceptions talking though. All in all it left me feeling glad we didn't really leave the resort.
There was no issue going through customs and we wandered the duty free shops for a while in the two hours before boarding. The flight itself was fine, it was a smooth ride, even Mum said so, though there was a few moments where she held on to the seat in front. Mostly just take off and landing and that's to be expected in Wellington airport.
Jackie left us soon after we landed. We picked up our duty free, went though customs and changed our cash back to NZ dollars. I was really surprised by how little cash I used, I hadn't realised the resort was cash free. Everything was charged to the room which was put on to Mum's credit card and we'll pay here after we sort out who pays what.
Jackie has a party at her place tonight so she wanted to get as much sleep as she could before the party. I don't see her getting much sleep tonight. We have a two hour wait in Wellington airport before we can fly home. Meaning it'll be close on seven pm before we can finally rest. That will feel great.
