Had to get up early this morning. I had booked a parasailing trip at seven in the morning. Silly thing to do at that time of the morning. Was a great trip though. There was only one other person going up on this trip. An Australian named Steph. She was terrified, I don't know why she wanted to do it, it was on a boat and she couldn't swim, she was afraid to do it alone. Fortunately we were able to go up together. I had a ball!! I wasn't scared at all but it was nice to go with someone who could really make you feel the excitement. I think going on my own might have ended up being a bit dull. Ten minutes feels a lot longer when you're up there. It was really beautiful watching the mist around the trees on the mainland. So worth it.
As for the rest of the day, we had plans to do things, but after we started lounging the rest of the day just sort of drifted by. Mum and Jennifer got massages as they were included with the packages. We thought we might to the mini golf that was also included but then it came to the choice between doing something and continuing to laze by the pool, the choice seemed obvious. We got a few cocktails and watched the day go by. The fact that it was our last day at the resort just made it seem all the more worth it.
For dinner we had the Polynesian Fires Dancers booked. We had really good seats right in front of the stage, probably because we booked in so early. The dinner was a buffet style with an assortment of Fijian foods, most of which was really nice. Some were a bit it and miss, but on the whole I enjoyed it. As for the show, I enjoyed that a bit less. Especially the audience participation part. I guess I can see where a lot of people would find it entertaining but really, not me. I actual Fire dancing was mostly good, although a few of them kept dropping the rods. I doubt they were professionals, probably just resort staff getting a bit extra.
Then it was time to pack up. We needed a bit of fortification for this and we had to use up the last of the alcohol so it was drinks all round. No one was really keen to pack up and its amazing how much a person can spread in a week. We were finding stuff all over. Finally we had done all we could. Tomorrow we leave.
