Today we decided to have a change of scenery and headed up to the Remarkables ski area... Well a slightly longer bus drive awaited us as we once again woke incredibly early to make the 8:15 shuttle, heading in the other direction.... Well the journey up there is worth a story in itself, the road leading to the ski area is a windy road up the side of the mountain with no barriers at the side and a shear drop for a view! But what a view though, well at least ...

Back to the early morning alarm and we were off skiing again!! We caught the 8:15 shuttle from outside the Copthorne and we were on the slopes by 9! Our first couple of runs were really nice, first tracks almost, as there were very few people there that early. Today after a little bit of a lie in to nurse Sam's hangover we wandered into town to confirm that our viewing of Vanda Place was still on for this afternoon. By this time it was lunch, so we stoped in The Bakery and picked up a couple of pies and Mud Muffins... mmm! We had a day in Queenstown today as it was the Snickers day on the bay, part of the winter festival. We wandered down to Lake Wakatipu in time to watch the More FM Birdman competition at 12. All the entrants have to design their own contraption and then take a running jump off of a specially designed pier which they erect in the middle of the lake. There are prizes for the most original design, the person that jumps the furthest, etc, etc. They're all pretty craz...

Today was more of a bits and pieces day. We had to move hotels so we couldn't go skiing or plan anything in particular. We had to be out of our beloved Novotel Gardens by 11. Our new hotel 'Copthorne Lake Front resort' is only actually 5 mins up the road from Novotel but because of all our stuff, we needed a cab to get us there (those of you who know me well (Sam that is!), will know I don't exactly travel light!!!!).
