Today the plan was to catch the early shuttle up to Coronet peak, but we over slept by half an hour. Sam was a bit of a lazy bum and couldn't be bothered to get ready in a hurry so I thought I would leave her behind and head up to the slopes with my new SNOWBOARD!!! By the time I had walked to the station to get the bus my feet were hurting from my new boots, which I have been promised will mould around my feet!!! but this is proving to be a rather uncomfortable ...

We caught the early shuttle again this morning and were up at Coronet Peak just after 9. Was a bit of a scary drive up today, it had been a really cold night and the roads were really icey. We had to stop at Arthurs Point to put some chains on the coach as the road was impassable without them! When we got to Coronet Peak, we couldn't see a hand infront of our face as the mountain was covered in a sea of clouds. We decided to stick to the green and blue runs...

Bit of a lazy day today... we got up at 7 to watch the football. England drew 2-2 with Sweden, Stu wasn't too happy with the late equaliser... Went for a wander around Queenstown to see what we could find. Stu's been checking out a lot of different boards, and Sam has decided her 180cm skis are a little too long for her, so she has been looking for a shorter pair. Today was our first day on the slopes!!! We were very eager beavers, and we managed to get ourselves out of bed in time to catch the first ski shuttle at 8:30! It took about a half hour to get up to Coronet Peak, once we got there we were met by beautiful blue skies and loads of snow!! We started off on a green run so that Stu could get his boarding legs back and Sam could rediscover her skis... we moved swiftly on to the blue runs and were bombing down the mount...

Today we bought our SKI PASSES!!!!! Yey - tomorrow we're hitting the slopes!!! Could be interesting since i haven't skiied for nearly six years and Stu's trying his luck with a snowboard - we'll let you know how it goes!!! We had a nice lay in this morning (following a nice lazy day yesterday to recharge our batteries!!) We got up about 11 and headed into town to buy our passes.
