Monday 24th
Dressed formally, we all made our way to the coaches for the opening ceremony at the University of Mumbai. When we arrived we were treated like V.I.P. and ushered through the college halls. As we entered we were showered with flower petals and handed bags filled with our programmed for the course. The opening address took place in a conference room on the 5th floor and it consisted of many speakers from India and the UK alike. The time came for the unveiling of the Study India logo and simultaneously the fans were switched on and we were treated to a second sprinkling of flower petals.
After all the speeches were made we were invited to watch the 'Talent parade' of the college students, we saw many performances ranging from bollywood dancing to Hip Hop free styling and interpretive dance, the standard was extremely high. We were all collectively issued with a challenge to create a piece that would feature in the end of programme showcase; we reluctantly accepted.
After dinner many of us found out we were rejected from the sim card company and so we had to re-apply, I was really annoyed and didn't feel like doing anything but, I was dragged along to a local bar, (Leopold's) it was quite a chilled out end to the evening, I spoke to other people on our course and tried Mumbai style Brownies and Vanilla Ice cream, both were really good. We made our way back to the hotel for about 1 am and got ready to go to sleep as tomorrow lectures would begin.
