Airlie beach....18/11
So we got the ferry back to townsville to get the greyhound to Airlie beach. We checked into Nomads a pretty cool hostel and headed straight out for lunch. Me and gem had a steak it was soooo good, the aussies do good steak. We just chilled out that night at the hostel, sat under a fruit bat tree, not the best place to be! The next day we chilled out at the lagoon with the two guys from our room, an american and mancunian quite a funny combo!
Whitsundays...........................
Day 1: We woke up to bad weather so spent most of the morning complaining about how bad our luck is, especially as bad weather means choppy conditions! The journey out there wasn't great, i think most people were feeling it! Our first stop was False Nara were we snorkled then headed back to the boat to jump into the spar they had on board! Sweet! Dinner was salad, rice, creamy chicken and cheesecake for pudding good food means happy Vicky! We did some star gazing that night and saw a shooting star, gutted i didn't get any pictures was so beautiful, then on to the cyder!
Day 2: We went via Hook Island to Tounge bay (whithaven). Whithaven is amazing luckily the weather picked up for it. The water is so shallow and the sand is perfect white so pretty... paradise! We chilled out there for a while then headed back to the boat for lunch. Our next snorkle stop was Mackrel bay where we saw loads of turtles, they were massive, couldn't believe i was just swimming above them! I got back onto the boat and drove around with Tanya our captian for a little while as i had enough of snorkling and we had three turtles around our boat, wish i had my camera! We then went on to Luncheon bay were the reef was so pretty and colourful my favourite spot of the Barrier reef so far. We slept at caves cove that night and had lasagne and chocolate cake for dinner!
Loved Whitsundays got to drive the boat on the way back to Airlie, took a bit of getting used to but i actually managed it, think i drive a boat better then a car, although thats not hard! Could have done another couple of days on there!! We spent the next day at the lagoon wasting time as we were getting the night bus to Agnes waters (1770) our next stop!
