So i'm behind by about a month and alot has happened since the last blog entry so here goes...
We got the coach from Cairns to Townsville, we had a crazy coach driver who showed us his country music video, which was pretty shocking, but so funny!! On the bus to the hostel all these school girls got on wearing the funniest hats, Australian school uniform sucks! The foriegn exchange hostel was so nice its was a old house coverted! Although it was the nicest hostel we stayed in we saw the most cockroaches, luckily it was only in the first room we stayed in. We went of exploring the town the next day and walked through the botanical gardens were there was a photo sesion for a wedding going on. We headed back to the hostel to sort out our whitsundays and fraiser island, that took so long that we decided to leave the Castle Hill climb to the next day and had some drinks at the hostel with everyone for some guys birthday. Was nice getting to know everyone and we finished any good nights drinking with a cheese toasty- standard!
The next day we did the hill climb with Timmy a guy we meet in Cairns. It was a struggle up the hill and a bit embarashing when people double our age were running up and passing us, but we made it to the top to watch the sunset and went back to the hostel and watched some movies.
Magnetic Island
We got the ferry to magnetic Island on the 16/11 and arrived at our hostel bungalow bay. We headed to the front for some food, fish and chips it was so good! Then me and Tash decided to go for a 'short' walk down the beach to the rocks were i got attached and bitten by a sandfly, which are huge and bloody horrible. It chased me down the beach and tash sat on the rocks laughing THANKS TASH! The next morning i skyped the family and then we did the wildlife tour at the hostel. We got to hold a baby croc, some lizards and a python which i will admit took two atempts! We then went for a long walk to Balding bay a nudist beach though luckily we missed the older nudists! We headed back and got the bus to feed the Walabies. So on Magnetic island the birds are up at about 5am and therefore so are you, who needs an alarm.
Next Airlie beach......
