Arrived in Rome safe and sound. It was a long trip but Emirates were great to fly with.
Got in our taxi to take us to the hotel & it turned out to be a communal trip (3 other couples, all going to different hotels). Did we have an adventure? I'm sure we saw parts of Rome that haven't been discovered yet - even the driver's gps couldn't help him (3 left turns just so you could make a legal left turn on the fourth corner). He was starting to show some italian temper but then he saw a very pretty girl and he calmed down. Turns out we were the last couple to get dropped off, & the driver reckons we had the best hotel.
Checked in, had a shower then went for a walk.
Trevi fountain is literally 1 minutes walk away and the crowds are massive.
We took a leisurely stroll around the hotel vicinity and eventually came across this little pizzeria. Had a really nice pizza.
