Had a lie in today until 7.30 and went for a leisurely breakfast.

Went to find a post office so that Jackie could buy some Brazilian stamps and went back to the hotel to check out, which had to be done by 12 even though we weren't being picked up until 4.

Decided to go for a stroll on Copacabana beach, called off for dinner at a cafe and after looking at the menu, thought we had it sussed..... wrong again.

How can a cheeseburger and club sandwich go so wrong. Well we have mastered the art cos it seems to go wrong everytime.

Cheeseburger was 2 slices of toast with dairylea chesse laid on each and a burger plonked on the top. Club sandwich was 2 slices of toast with dairylea cheese on and bacon, chicken and a fried egg on the top, oh and sandwich filler on the side. Don't think anyone has every ordered a club sandwich with chips, cos the waiter looked disgusted and was even mystified with mayonaise as they pronounce it mayonaise ????. But at least the view was good, did plenty of people watching which was funny.

Had another little walk along the front and found a mist shower which looked like an advertising board with buttons on it and yes we had to have a go, it was really cooling.

Got back to the hotel to see a load of youngsters getting giddy with all their cameras out, we had no idea what was going on and even after they photographed the stars, we still had no idea who they were. Someone told us that Gun & Roses were staying in our hotel, ooops missed that one. They didn't look like we remembered - one was fat and bald, so don't know who he was.

Our driver, Alex (we know that cos it's the only english word he knew) picked us up for the airport and this again is where the fun started.

The plane which we were supposed to board at 7.25 was nowhere to be seen, so everyone sat on the airport floor. Oh yeah no cafe in Rio airport. Eventually when the plane arrived we were boarded and sat there, and sat there and sat there. We were meant to take off at 8 but were still on the runway at 9.15 there was a fault on the plane and people wanted to get off.

We arrived in Sao Paulo and were ushered onto the plane that they had held up for us, but even this didn't go as planned. We stowed our luggage in the overhead compartments and 2 lads decided that they would ram theirs in as well. Their bags were full of bottles of water and one fell out and hit Jackie on the head and then poured over us. Jackie being calm and collected stood up and pointed to the lads and our seats and said " you are sitting here aren't you now that you have wet the seats" they looked pertified at Jackie's bulging eyes and just nodded.

Slept throught flight.
