Hello, in a little while we will be going on the train to Jaipur, India! Today we went to a fort called the Red Fort. It was beautiful. After that we went to an Indian restaurant. To me it was an okay meal. I'd like to tell you more about rickshaws! Took-took is another name for rickshaws! There are a lot of kinds of rickshaws. Here are some kinds: bicycle rickshaws, three wheeled car rickshaws, and two-seater rickshaws.
(A few hours later)
Now we're in our berth on the train. I have a top bunk. I am number eight. There are four bunks total in our berth. There are me, Mom, Pop, and two other guys. Since there are four beds and five people I'm assuming that one of them is going to move to another berth. There is no ladder to climb up to my bunk so I've learned to climb up and down on my bunk (quickly). I miss my home but I'm having fun on my trip!

Penny Dear Romy, We miss you, but we are so excited that you are having a big adventure. We love hearing about it! I'm glad that you have a bunk for your long train ride to Jaipur. Did you bring some food with you? I remember my first train ride. I was in second grade, I think, on a school trip. The whole idea of the trip was to ride the train--we had a train ride and didn't even get out of the train, just turned around and came back. The best part was eating lunch on the train. In my lunch box was: a swiss cheese sandwich on rye bread with lots of butter, carrot sticks, and chocolate Hostess cupcakes (my favorite!). I can't wait to hear more about your train ride. Holly Hi Romy, Have you ridden in all of the different kinds of rickshaws yet? Which one is your favorite? I think I'd like the bicycle kind the best. Did you know Nick used to have a pedicab, and he would ride us around in it to do the grocery shopping? That's also how Lucia got to school every day when she was in kindergarten.
