Hello, today we got in a car accident but we're okay! The window shield broke but the good thing is we haven't a scratch! We made it! We're in a nice place called the Corbett Motel. There is NOT a balcony, there is not a roof, but it's on the ground so balconies are not possible. But it's in a mango grove! So beautiful! The mangoes aren't out yet but their flowers are so pretty. It's cooler here. (the next day) We woke up at five in the morning here and it's like seven at night there. We woke had some tea and then we went to a nature preserve. We saw: Barking Deer, White Spotted Deer, Wild Monkeys, Parakeets, Storks. We could have seen: Wild Elephants, Peacocks, Tigers, Leopards, Snakes. The nature preserve was in the Jungle. It makes me think of the Jungle Book. I was in the play.
Here are some things that comfort me on the road--reading, looking at pictures, flowers, dogs, friends, reading comments about my blog! I miss home but I'm having fun here and we're going home on Sunday and we're going to be back on Monday and I'll be back in school on Tuesday!

Penny Hi sweets, so glad that no one had a scratch ! I will want to hear all about that misadventure when we are together again...we leave lovely Madrid today. We will get our car and hit the road, going north to a place in hills. Yesterday was the best--great art and delicious food (lettuces from cogolla!) and interesting walking with no showers. Our trip is still beginning and yours is coming to an end. You must be yearning for home. Safe travels and much love from penny and Addison
Sherry Olson Hi Romy, I am so glad you are all okay. You have kept a blog you can really be proud of. You have great descriptions of what you have seen and the emotions you have felt on your journey. Congratulations! I will be glad when you are home. love, Sherry
Liza Wheeler Back in school on Tuesday! It's so amazing that you'll be traveling half way around the world in a couple of days. What will you miss about India when you're back home? Love from Liza
Liz Bowen Yikes! Sorry 'bout the car accident, but glad everyone is okay. The motel in the mango grove sounds magical. I love reading your descriptions. Even though I'm sitting here in dreary Maine with John and the "girls" (i.e. the cats), your blog makes me feel like I'm traveling along with you - in your pocket. Is that a camel pulling a load in one of your photos? Somehow, I only picture camels in the sands of the Sahara, or in Saudi Arabia... not in India. Are the camels you see the one-humped models (dromedary) or the two-humped models (bachtrian)? I can't quite tell in the photo. Wouldn't it be silly to see a camel hauling stuff in the street in front of Chase's Daily?! Do you hear any traditional Indian music? Or mostly street sounds, animals and birds? Have you been eating any food that's as tasty as Freddy's Indian dinners? You must be of two hearts: wanting to return home to family and friends... and continuing your wild adventures. Love to you, Meg & Freddy, Liz :)
Kati Oh dear, I am so glad that everyone is okay. I hate that feeling of impact and then of trying to figure out how to proceed. I have never been in a mango grove but I want to be. Cool air, flowering trees, tea in the morning... it all sounds fabulous. It is cool here in Chattanooga, 40 this morning, and today is cloudy but many things are in bloom and it is supposed to be in the 60's this weekend. Perfect!
jessica Wow! Romy you've had such an amazing adventure. I can't wait to hear every detail when you come home. xoxJessica
Lou Lafage What fun, I want to hear about the hill station. It is latew spring now in Vero Beach, the flowers and shrubs are in full flowered bloom. Cooper just had his last hunt and isready to go north. See you soon. Lou
Steffany Wow. Time goes fast and you guys have traveled far. England still has the cold wind and last weekend it snowed everyday but it did not stick. It is odd considering last year in March I went swiming in the Thames Estuary. I will look up what mango flowers look like. I am glad you are all ok. I can't believe your trip is almost finished. You will have stories to recall and they wil be colourful and last you a lifetime. Jack and I miss you guys.
