A big day on the treadlie today.
A 5 kilometre warm up along the foreshore at Da Nang beach prepared us for the 10 kilometre climb to the top of Hai Van pass. There were amazing views if you could catch your breath. For something a little different, the weather set in as we reached the peak of the mountain. Fog, rain, mud. More fog, more rain and whole heap more mud for the rest of the day.
An awesome 15-km winding descent overlooking the coastline. I'm right in my element. Having a ball! All up… just under 100 kilometres of cycling today. The photos don't really do the hills any justice though.
We're now up to number 5 for the group 'stack' count.
Rider takes corner waaay too fast. Goes wide and finds himself in the kitty litter. Gets up close and personal with the safety barrier. Rider reckons he might take the downhill sections a little slower when it's raining. And stay on the bitumen bits. Surprisingly no blood spilt.
