Sunday 31 December 2006 - New Year's Eve!
Started our New Year's Eve preparations with a pamper session at 'Professionails', our Christmas present from Sarah. Relaxed in our big massage chairs while we had our pedicures, then some nail treatment! We could get used to this!
Made our way across the City towards Sydenham, south of the City where Sel, Beth and their friend Lilly were staying. Bit of a rush so caught up while getting ready and sipping our wine! Back into the City and to Darling Harbour all dressed up! Slightly concerned and had doubts about it being New Year's Eve as noone else seemed to be dressed up!
Joined by Lilly's mate John made our way to the Kings St Wharf to wait for our boat. Many stunning boats went past and then came the Lady Wakehurst! Nice that it was red, but......
Everyone piled on, much more than the 240 passenger quota, apparently more like 600!! We were not happy at overhearing rumours that we may run out of alcohol so as soon as the boat sailed we lined our drinks up determined to drink the boat dry!
Boat sailed up and down the harbour while we ate the buffet and listened to the tunes! Waved to the thousands of people piled on the Harbour and past the Opera House and City Skyline.
Out on deck to watch the 9pm fireworks - intended for the children, or those too drunk to remember the midnight ones! These were fantastic so looked forward to the midnight ones!
All parked up for 12 o'clock fireworks which were amazing! Blasting out 'Diamonds are Forever' for that years theme, it was such a buzz to actually be in Sydney watching the fireworks over the Harbour!
In true NYE tradition Ellie managed to break her phone but quite thankful that it never went overboard, and neither did she!
Monday 1 January 2007 - New Years Day
Very hungover (but not as bad as Sarah & Paul who had a very eventful evening at the RSL! with Paul losing the ability to stand and Sarah being sick - blastered white wine hey!!) Paul treated us to a BBQ - too hungover to eat anything, sorry Paul!
