Recolecta
Today we visited on of the most popular tourist attractions in Buenos Aires, the cemetery in Recolecta. Personally I was not overly bothered on visiting, however we had been told that it was a stunning area of architecture where the lives of various famous Argentineans such as Evita and many past Presidents were celebrated. From the outset I found the whole place particularly eerie and it was the first overcast day in Buenos Aires which made it even more so. I then went in search of a leaflet and ended up walking into a funeral which freaked me out, the thought of having a funeral ceremony with a bunch of tourists walking round was really strange to me.
We joined a English speaking tour to gain a little insight on the grounds, which made it a little more interesting, but overall it was not my cup of tea.
After that we stumbled of a really stunning church and then the funkiest shopping mall named the Buenos Aires Design. Inside the building were loads of interior design shops to cater for the rich of the rich…there was literally a specialist shop to cater for everything in the home from taps to paintings, and every element of the mall was created with a very contemporary, artistic look.
