Started the morning with a bagel with cream cheese then to The Cathedral Church of St John the Divine 9.00am service. This is the largest cathedral in the world! We met Rebecca and Liz outside Trinity Church in Lower Manhattan. This church has been around since 1696 and is a good example of gothic architecture. From there we walked to Wall Street - the "Financial Heart" of the world. We saw the BULL with too many tourist hanging off it, which is representative of a stock market rise. Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is another rite of passage for visitors to New York - apparently. It is a long walk, very crowded with pedestrians and cyclists. An early rise today to make sure that we got to Battery Park for our 9.00am Liberty Island tour. We ventured on the Metro and took the 1 Line to the end of Manhattan. This journey took nearly 1/2 hour which is a good indication of the length of Manhattan Island .
