The day we travelled to Koh Panghan was the first real test for me. It was a hot and sticky day and my stomach was playing up. We got the boat across to Koh Panghan and our plan was to find a place to book for the full moon party which is on the 6th December and then head to the north part of the island, which is quieter, more spectacular and where there is some good scuba diving. However, every place we found wanted us to stay for about six days, when we only wanted two. We were trekking around up big hills in the midday heat, with our heavy back packs. My dicky stomach was really playing up at this point and i had to use one of the hostel toilets. Thank God. They had toilet paper. The self flushing part was not so good. Finally we found a good place, which also gave us a taxi to the north of the island quite cheaply.
In travelling you have top rough it sometimes to get to some fantastic places. A hard day was rewarded by us finding a great beach hut, with air conditioning and the best beach we have seen so far. The water is so clear and the beach is quiet. I was in the sea for about 2 hours cooling down. It was bliss.
That evening we had a few drinks on the beach and suddenly found ourselves heading to the half moon party in the jungle. We went to the lizard lounge where we drank till about 12 o clock. We had buckets of vodka redbull and painted our newly invented holiday logo onto one of the bar pillows. We are TEAM PANDA and our motto is PANDAMONEUM. See photos for the picture. Our taxi was an open back geep (we all sat in the open back bit, our driver was stoned i think. The road was bumpy). I was elementiong on the way as i gazed at the thousands of stars in the sky in my drunken state. The half moon party was amazing. Illuminous crazy objeects everywhere, we were in the middle of the jungle, with thousands of people, partying like crazy. Loads of people had illuminous drawings on their bodies. The music was hard house and trance. Brilliant night. Got home about five o clock
The next morning, which is today, we woke up at half one. Not too bad. The hangover wasnt the problem but the mosquito bites was. i have them all over my body despite the 90% deet im using. Also we had about 11 or 12 cockroaches in our room, which we had to evict. They have since returned, but I have become a quite skilled cockroach catcher now, using just a soap holder. But as i said, you take the rough with the smooth when your travelling and its all one great experience. This takes me up to now and i have really gotta get some food down me, so have a great day everyone
