Thursday : Overcast
It was a quiet camp last night there was only two other people in the park. We got to sleep in a bit and used the wifi for a bit after breakfast.
We were taking a boat trip in the afternoon from from Monterosso to Porto Venere today. We will get to cruise past all the villages along the coast, down to Porto Venere which is on the southern tip of the cinque Terre peninsula.
When we were ready we made our way down to the station, and once again the train was pulling away from the platform when we got there. It was ok, we didn't have to wait too long for the next one to Monterosso.
We hopped off the train and walked around to the old town and found the ticket office. We bought our tickets and then went for a walk around the town to kill some time.
On our walk we picked up some snacks for the boat ride, and by the time we grabbed our seats on the boat the sun had come out.
It was a nice trip down the coast, the view from the boat gave us awesome views of the villages.
We pulled into Porto Venere's small harbor, and it's a nice small town. However it looks big at first, it has a big fort and church on the heads. That's what you notice first from the boat then you go through the heads and come up to a nice harbor front and small old town.
We had a nice stroll around town, past all the slanted houses and restaurants before the big push back onto the boat. Kim did well again with getting good seats. However the motor on the boat broke and we had to get toed back to shore.
We had to leave our primo seats, but Kim worked her magic for a third time and scored the exact same seats on the new boat. The trip back was very nice the setting sun boosted the colours of the villages and coast.
Once again we just missed the train back, but the next one still got us back home in time, so we could have a nice meal in a local Framura restaurant.
After the meal we started the walk home. We took a few night photos of the town, and once back sitting on our deck we finished off the last bottle of wine while watching some telly.
