Wednesday - Sunny
Had a good sleep last night, must be the flats homie feel. However we may have had too good a sleep because we slept in and had no time for breakfast and had to rush to the ferry terminal.
Luckily there were no lines at the ticket booth and we jumped straight onto the ferry. The ferry had a quick stop and Levanzo island before we hopped off on our island Favignana. We got to the island around midday and had a nice walk through the small but pretty town centre before getting to our accommodation.
The owner couldn't speak English but his daughter could. She gave us a map and pointed out some POI on the island (which is only 10kms at it longest) before they both lead us down to our flat.
I can see us having a very fun time in this place over the next four days. It's styled like a Greek island home, it's painted a bright white and has lovely blue shutters. The really cool part is that the unit is huge! The ceilings must be like 4 metres high, It's two story, two beds, two baths and has a front and back porch. One bathroom and the large living/kitchen area down stairs, and the bedrooms and other bathroom are upstairs via a nice staircase. All for €55 Love it! Got to be the best accommodation of the trip so far!
We immediately went up the road and bought some drinks and food for the next four days, then hired some bikes (and much to Kim's delight they had baskets) before the office shuts for the usual extended lunch. We had a filling lunch then went for a great bike ride to suss out some beaches.
We ended up doing a bit of a beach crawl this afternoon. It was nice. The beaches were quiet and water was very warm and very blue. We came back from the beaches and had a nice dinner.
Today I think had pretty much set the pace for the rest of the stay on the island. It was a great day and we will be doing much of the same tomorrow.
