So Eva and the two older girls went to horse-riding lessons today and I tagged along to check it out.
Firstly: they DO NOT ride like us Aussies. Eva is about 9 and she rode a pony andher friend on a shetland pony, in a tiny little cirled off area. in what I am pretty sure was a backyard. It was Tiny! Like probably the size of my bedroom! haha. in the middle of the circle was their instructor... a little crippled old man in a wheel chair with what I suppose was suppose to be a whip. I'm not sure what exactly this guy was teaching them but the first thing he should have taught them was to use their knees, not their toes!! It was actually kind of frustrating watching them, so me and Sandra went and played with a basket of pegs near the washing line haha..
After Evca was done riding, I went to a more proper areana made up where the older girls were riding. They were better, but I can't understand why they were getting lessons, they just rode around the areana, on horses that were well disciplined, with the old guy tell them things. All the did was ride in cirlces... I remember back to my horse riding lessons, I was trained to control the horse, direct it, dressage skills and how to ride well and in different situations. I didn't sit on a horse why it went around in circles.
Watching them ride made me really want to get on a horse and gallop through the paddock.. I might ask the old dude if I can borrow a horse and ride it.... in a paddock!! P.S the paddocks and farms here are so SMALL! like smaller than our back yard (i.e. back in Australia). But some places do have pretty big stables.
There is another 'Horse Farm' down the road, that we took a look at once. So maybe i'll check out how they ride up there.

Mum It would be good if you could go horse riding. Maybe the old guy could use your help as an assistant instructor!!
dad Those horses might not know what or how to go anywhere but in a circle , see if you can get a ride and tell us how you go.
