After 3 days and 2 nights on a very small strip of beach we have made it back to Hanoi. The trip was amazing! We did a 4 hour cruise of the islands, swam, kayaked, played beach volleyball, drank and generally enjoyed some fun in the sun for 3 days. We stayed in small beach huts 10m from the sea, you can see our morning view in the picture! One of the highlights was that the area has bio luminous plankton, so when you swim at night it disturbs it and then glows so it looks like you are swimming through fairy dust. Quite a surreal experience! It is supposed to be even better in Koh Rong in Cambodia so we will have to compare!
When we got back to Hanoi we are absolutely exhausted and after some food and a quick trip around the Friday night market we called it a night. We are leaving Hanoi tonight at 6pm for Hue, a 12 hour trip on a sleeper bus. We are hoping the beds aren't going to be to small as I'm quite a lot larger than the average Vietnamese person!
Today we are going to spend our time wondering around the city and enjoying the chaos that is Vietnam. I've loved this city, Sarah hasn't been to sure, maybe it's the difference between growing up in London and in the country. A visit to the Army museum is also on the cards today as it is supposed to have an excellent collection of military memorabilia from the Vietnam war, and a stroll around Lenin park.

Lisa Sorry we couldn't talk today. Have now bought a large map so we can see exactly where you are on your travels. Loved all the new photos. Hope the sleeper bus beds weren't too small for you and can't wait to hear all about it your latest adventures. Much live, Mum/Lisa xx
