Day 3 - Bangkok (Saturday)
Time to change hotel so we took a taxi & ended up at the wrong hotel. They told us our hotel was in the red zone but not to worry as the hotel was really safe and only 100metres from the reds protest area (good start)!!
We got dropped at a rather suspicious looking back alley which had some interesting sights and smells including the odd roach and rat!! We had a perfect view of the reds from our window needless to say we were a little sceptical about leaving the hotel!
We decided we'd take our chances and headed out to check out the hood. We found a fab little backstreet restaurant where we had some yummy food and even scrumier beer!
It was really hot so we thought a dip in the pool was in order. In the evening we went to check out patpong district and discovered talented ping-pong players! Met a crazy couple and followed to another bar for disco dancing and a few more beers. After a long night - bargained with a tuk tuk driver to get back to the hotel but somehow got lost and mingled with the reds. Safely back in the room and two packs of noodles later..time for bed!!!
Day 4 - Bangkok (Sunday)
After a lazy morning, spent the day by the pool just relaxing. In the late afternoon, we went to the night market for din-dins and some bargains. Our night consisted of dodgy food (we know from this morning!), angry tuk-tuk drivers, pushy market sellers and painfully bad music but it was all fab!
Day 5 - Bangkok (Monday)
We start our 29day tour today and meet with the crew later....
"Twenty-four hours in a day; twenty-four beers in a case. Coincidence?"
Much love from the Singah slingers xx

Tommy Hey there!! Good to hear your having fun in Bangkok!!! That's a crazy and lovely place :-) Btw, can u guys advice of the name of your town in Portugal? I am trying to find flights etc for paying you a visit when u're back. Let me know the name of the city and also some airports except Lisbon. I might want to take some discovery of Portugal while driving or Bus'ing up to you. Take care now and have great fun!!! /Tommy :-)
Singah slingers Hellllooooo, Fab to hear from you..would love it if you could visit but we do charge a fee of case of beers now from all visitors ha ha ha! Airports except from Lisbon are: Porto - in the north around 220km north (great for port lodges, good architecture etc) Bus/train available to us. Faro - in the Algarve south of Portugal. Bus or car around 5 hours (touristic, great beeches, lots of brits). Our village is called Foz do Arelho which is near Caldas da Rainha. Lisbon is closest airport only 1hour north. Have fun and let us know what you come up with. (we are back on the 10th June) Jen & Mr Singah x
