Day 4 - Chiang Kong, Thailand Thursday 22nd April
A long drive took us from Chiang Mai to Chiang Kong. Along the way we stopped by a stunning privately owned temple which was completely white. It is said that the entrance to the temple is hell and you only enter heaven after crossing the bridge! (Obviously we sprinted over the bridge!)
Our sleeping accommodation for the night was a very basic but just perfect little guesthouse overlooking the Mekong River which is the home to the giant catfish. We had a few local beers on the balcony with Gem and Phil to settle the road dust before going for dinner. Another early night for another early departure the following morning.
For our Nordic friends the saying is don't eat yellow snow but in Asia, don't drink brown water!
