Day 3 - Chiang Mai, Thailand Wednesday 21st April
After our luxurious train journey we arrived at Chiang Mai! Our stomachs were rumbling so we decided to take a Thai cooking class which was absolutely fantastic albeit very fast paced! Now we can try to replicate the dishes for brave volunteers!! - apply here!
At 4pm we visited the famous temple in Chiang Mai located on the top of a mountain and only 300 steps up! There we witnessed monks chanting which unfortunately was disturbed by one male cat very very interested in a lady cat!!
In the evening, we headed to the local night market to browse the local handicrafts and such. After a lovely dinner we went back to the hotel for another early night!!
What not to do when bargaining:
Don't show too much affection to the vendor (i.e. fondling or serious kissing to lower the price!)
Offering a bag of rice in exchange for that lovely 'genuine' rolex is not appropriate - offer at least 2!!

Super Dad Two very small bags of rice I guess, do they not accept US $ then? Fondling market traders well that's novel - most of the traders in my day were ugly and mean!
