DAY 2: Topdeck Grand European 28 day tour.

9am departure from the hotel. First stop Sacre Coeur Basilica at the top of Le Butt ("the hill"). The start to the day wasn't so great, as we had to wait 40 mins for some people who had ATM issues at the bank. Great start.
Then there was manic traffic heading into central Paris. An expected "30 odd minute trip" took TWO HOURS. {Luke WTF moment #1). No joke. Traffic was unbelievably crazy.

2am: we finally arrived back into the centre of Paris and visited the magnificent gothic style cathedral - The Notre Dame. It was wonderful!

Then we strolled along the River Seine in the direction towards the Tour Eiffel. We walked along the back streets on the way, discovering a cute cafe 'cafe l'empire' for a late lunch.
Then towards the famed Champs de Élysées strip for retail therapy for 2 hours before a gourmet picnic at the Eiffel Tower at 7:00.

Carrying the shopping from Zara and wine, cheese and baguette was SO tiring. Definitely missing Will alot right now!!

After the gourmet picnic, we left the tour group who were either going on a River Seine cruise or a cabaret show. When the driver notified Luke that 10 ppl were missing from the bus, Luke gave a slightly confused reaction trying to piece where the members of the pack may be located. {Luke WTF moment #2}.

We then wandered back to the Eiffel tower for more pics and then took the metro to Cite for gelato that Luke recommended was the best he's ever had in Paris. As we got to the place, THEY WERE CLOSING UP. {Luke WTF moment #3}.

Argh! Luke is so disorganized, inexperienced and indecisive and so...WTF. Not the best tour leader to have :/ ah well. It actually made our experience quite funny in a way!
