We departed Aix at 11am towards the direction of Nice. We are staying at Beaulieu-sur-Mer tonight, about 10km away from Nice, on the Cote d'Azur.
We made stops at Cannes for lunch, and Antibes before we arrived at Nice. Cannes was very posh, had a casino and all the luxury brands and nice cars on the main promenade. Seemed classier than Nice. The beach was also not pebblestones, but proper sand.
Antibes also had nice sandy beaches, but was a smaller resort area, more suited to families.
We reached Nice after some traffic (of course) to sort out train tickets for tomorrow to Cinque Terre, then finally headed to Beaulieu sur Mer. We arrived after getting a little lost just after 6pm. The town reminds me alot like Monaco, everything is nicely landscaped, clean and perfect. The marina docked an array of nice yachts, the parking lot had a number of super cars, and we even saw a girl no older than 7 holding an LV bag. I'd want to slap that kid.
We went to "La Pignatelle" for dinner on the recommendation of the hotel owner (who was super friendly, web helping us take our luggage up the stairs). Had a 3 course again for €25, with a salmon carpaccio (totally fresh and delicious!) and a fish fillet, which wad also super fresh and very delicately cooked. I finally got to have my chocolate fondant in France too, and it did not disappoint! O.m.g. ... Melt in the mouth awesomeness!
Wished we'd stayed more of the day here in Beaulieu sur Mer though, it was a lovely town, but everything was shut by the time we got there. Great place also cos the hotel owners were super friendly!
