Friday 16th March
Today we had to go and collect our Chinese visas. For all those people that may be panicking (like my mother) that we had gone to some dodgy shop in a hovel to get them, we didn’t. It is all very legit I promise. For one the shop was right outside the Chinese Embassy with a big sign on it proclaiming that you could get your visas there and for some strange reason I don’t think that they would do that right outside the official building if they were dodgy.
It was very exciting to pick them up because now we have even more cool stickers and stamps in our passports! Woo! We caught the bus back to central and went to talk to the Greyhound Bus people about what route they would recommend for us to take to get to Cairns. We are stopping off in several places so that we really get a feel for the East Coast, including tiny little towns that are basically unheard of but have free museums and things to do in them! As I have said before free stuff is always good. These are the places, for the moment, that we have decided to go see;
Newcastle
Coffs Harbour
Byron Bay
Surfers Paradise
Noosa
Brisbane
Cairns
Cape Tribulation
And some others but these are subject to change...
Also we had to go and get Medicare cards this afternoon which we didn't realise we needed...Basically our insurance may be void without them but we got them so it is all good and if we get injured we are covered.
Ok this must be the lamest entry in the journal but we actually did nothing and to be honest I haven't a clue what we did anyway. Sorry. Please forgive me.
