G'day everybody,
As per usual we have been very busy, just spent the last 3 days at sydney where we stayed on Bondi Beach. We wrote a lil bit in our previous blog so sorry if we repeat somethings. Our flight from Brisbane was really easy turned up at the airport hopped on a plane, next thing we knew we were getting of the plane in Sydney, was nice to only have a short flight unlike what were in for over the next couple of days!!! On our first day we checked into our accomodation which was pretty basic but just what we needed, didnt quite compare to our super posh hotel room on the Gold Coast but still it was comfy. After checking in we walked down to Bondi Beach which was just like the ozzy equivalent of Worthing, once there we did the coastal walk had a snack and then sat and watched the surfers, as we were leaving we saw a couple having there wedding photos taken on the beach. We decided we would have a night in as knew we would be busy on Tuesday, so we went to a fish market and brought some sammon then got a few bits from the supermarket and Claire cooked dinner in our apartment. It was nice to just have dinner in front of the tv and relax for a bit as we are always on the go. The next morning we headed down into the heart of Sydney(Circular quay) on the double decker train there so cool, we stopped at central to have a look around but there was just a lot of homeless people so decided to head straight into the city!! Once there we jumped onto a ferry that took us along the edge of the city passed the opera house underneath the harbour bridge and dropped us off at Darling Harbour. We saw the maritime museum and had a walk through harbourside(shopping centre) then we decided to go to the Chinese gardens, this was so much fun. We dressed up in traditional outfits, including all the head gear and walked around the gardens. We got stopped by lots of children and a few other people requesting photos which was really funny we felt famous but was probably just because we looked like a right pair of prats lol!!! After all the fun there we stopped for lunch on the edge of the harbour we shared some seafood and also shared it with the seagulls!!! After lunch we headed back up to circular quay where we walked up the steps of the opera house and just had a walk around, a few people had mentioned Manly so we decided to take the ferry there. It was getting dark so once on the ferry we saw sydney all lit up, it looked really nice as the bridge and opera house looked really pretty. Th boat ride to Manly took 30 mins so got to see all the riverside houses and more of sydney!! Once at Manly we just had a walk around, we saw the beach and checked out a few of the shops before heading back. We were going to eat out in the city but once the sun had set it was quite cold and we were both really tired so decided to order takeaway and eat back in our apartment. We got an indian which was nice but still not as good as in England! We just relaxed in front of the tv for the eve and got another early night. The following day was our final day in Sydney so we did a little bit of shopping at bondi junction and at Harbourside and got a few more souvenirs. We had a look around australia museum which was really good as they had loads of skeletons and stuff and we actually found it quite interesting haha, we also showed of our art skills and learnt to draw a dinosaur!! After all that fun we travelled back to the airport where we had to wait an extra hour for our plane, in the end we made it back to Brisbane. We both really enjoyed Sydney but agreed that we wouldn't live there as it is way to big and the hustle and bustle is just like London, also it was quite dirty like London. Brisbane is definitely our place!! Today we just went into Brisbane for the last time and picked up a few final bits, it has rained non stop since lastnight so wont be to big a shock coming back into England!! This eve we had Taccos which were so yummy and enjoyed our last evening with the family. We are now all packed and ready to go to bed as have got a very long 2 days ahead of us. It is strange that it is now 6 weeks on already and we have come to the end of our trip. Well we shall write our last blog entry 2moz so for now goodnite xxx lots of love Claire and Charlotte xxx
