We saw the Big Lobster today as we drove through Kingston S.E on our way to Mount Gambier.
We had stopped at Policeman's Point to eat some lunch. A Pub and motel out in the middle of nowhere. The place was closed but there was a man working outside who Patrik spoke to for a while as I prepared some lunch. He owned the pub which was for sale as it was hard to make ends meet out there. So sad to hear, he probably had big dreams when he bought the place.
We came into a place called Robe at about 3pm and stopped to give the kids a snack. We were looking at almost 2 more hours of driving to get to Mount Gambier so we decided to stay in Robe. It's a nice little town on the coast with beautiful beaches.
When we had gotten set up at the caravan park we went and jumped on the jumping pillow until Max fell and hurt his foot, or knee, or leg. Unclear what was hurting and it wasn't so bad that he couldn't walk on it. Instead we went and used the indoor heated pool. Luxury! We had the place to ourselves and the kids had loads of fun and didn't want to get out. But we all needed dinner so we had to pull them out.
We drove into town as it was windy and cold and was raining a little. No summer in sight! We had dinner at a really nice pub called Caledonia and after that we went for a little drive around the town. We were hoping that the kids would fall asleep in the car but only Max would oblige. Elise was full of energy so we had to go back to the caravan with her awake. So then it took another 40 minutes for her to settle and fall asleep.
Tomorrow we will make it to Mount Gambier.
