We have left the Nullarbor! At the moment we are driving along the coast of the Eyre Peninsula, I can't say that it is a whole lot different from the Nullarbor. A lot of straight road and just fields and fields as far as you can see and then a few glimpses of the ocean here and there. There are a few more sand dunes though!
We spent the last two nights in Ceduna. As there was a time difference between Western Australia and South Australia we slept really late after the first night so we decided that instead of stressing onwards we would take it easy for a day and do some food shopping. They took all our fruit and veg at the boarder because of quarantine so we had to stock up again. The kids also needed a bit of a break from sitting in the car.
We ended up at a really nice caravan park in Ceduna a little bit by mistake. I called to book in the morning and then Patrik asked me a bit later if I booked at The Foreshore Caravan Park? No. I did not. But it was so lucky because The Foreshore was not at all cozy and where we ended up was really nice. Sometimes mistakes are good!
In the afternoon we went down to check out the beach expecting the water to be icy cold. It was really warm! It was such a shame we didn't bring our bathers. The kids got to splash around a bit though, they can get away with running around nude. I managed to keep quite dry until Elise peed on me when we were getting out of the water. Couldn't she have done that in the water?
Our destination today is Coffin Bay, renowned for their world-famous oysters. I wish I loved oysters!
…… We are in Coffin Bay now and the kids are asleep! Yay! We only arrived at 5pm so we haven't really had a chance to look around yet. We went for dinner at the Oyster bar, and yes we did have oysters. We ordered a half dozen each but we received a dozen each. I was a bit worried I was going to throw up, half dozen I can get through but a dozen. =S But they were really tasty, even the non-cooked ones. However, I still can't say that I love oysters. Then we had chili mussels, salt & spice calamari and sashimi for main course. Yummy, Yummy, Yummy!!!
Good night!!
