When in Rome! Love this city. It's so full of history, with no shortage of well known tourist attractions to visit that are actually super interesting. Our hostel is a nice one, and after our first night here being stuck in a 6 bed dorm with only 1 other older french gentlemen who was the noisiest sleeper you could ever imagine, we transferred to a room with two other girls, one of which ended up being from Canada. We got along really well and toured a bit of the city with them. I'm sure you could guess that seeing the Colosseum was one of the first things we did, and for that we did a 45 minute guided tour that I feel was extremely worth it. Included in that tour was another hour long tour of the forum and palatine hill. We also opted to do a guided tour of the Vatican city. There is so much to see in such a small city, so we saw certain rooms in the museum, the Sistine Chapel, and Saint Peter Basilica. Other things we saw were the Spanish steps, the Piazza Venezia, Castel Sant'Angelo, Arch of Constantine and the Tiber River.
