After a fun filled weekend celebrating Jo's birthday, Evan, Justin and I were off to ski in Andorra. Andorra is a tiny country between France and Spain with a population of only 70,000 people that doesn't even have it's own airport. We flew into Barcelona and took a 3 1/2 hour bus ride to our resort in Andorra. It was in a prime location, literally minutes from the bottom of the hill. We spent our first full day on the slopes where Evan was patient enough to teach me how to ski and did a really good job of it as I was skiing by myself within a few hours. The second day I went shopping by my lonesome, Andorra is a tax free country so I figured I better take advantage of that. I spent my third day on the slopes again and after a quick refresher I can say with confidence that I can ski. Maybe not well, but I can! Evan and I went together on our last day and tried out dog sledding. Evan drove a sled, I just rode in one. It was still pretty cool though.
The day of our flight home we were scheduled to catch the bus back to the Barcelona airport at 6:00am which meant waking up at 5:00. At 10 past 6:00 when the bus still wasn't there Justin made a call to the bus line only to find out his travel agent screwed up and gave us the wrong time. The bus actually left Andorra at 4:30am, so we were left with only a cab as our option which had to come from out of town. We were cutting it pretty close as our flight was at 10:30am and it was 7:00 when our cab arrived to pick us up. The cab driver drove like a crazy person, got us to the airport at 10:00 where we rushed through security only to find out our flight was delayed. Isn't that the way it works. So luckily, after the most expensive cab ride of life, we made it back to England okay.
