G'day Dudes and Dudettes.
Once again, I have some thrilling updates for you!
I'm now in Cairns after a 500Km drive that lasted the majority of the day through some awesome rainforest, mountains and sugarcane farms.
The city has been awesom so far and I've just finished munching a Fillet Mignon with all the trimmings at an up-market hotel with a live jazz band; the Swinging Ally Kats.
Earlier today (Sunday) we left Airlie Beach, the place where I set sail for the Whitsundays on Thursday at around 9 O'Clock in the morn.
With 3 Days out at sea, these spectacular islands and the Great Barrier Reef have made it the highlight of the trip thus far.
I became an unqualified pro at Scuba Diving after 2 dives, the second going down to 8 metres underwater.
Got my Sea Kayaking on for a couple of hours; it's a lot harder in the sea than it is in a river!
I also did a fair bit of snorkelling, sun bathing and visited what has been voted the No. 1 Beach in the World where the sand is 98% silica, Whitehaven Beach. We all got a bit daring and went paddling with the Stingrays (don't worry, these weren't the same that attacked the great Steve Irwin).
Add to all this, the fact that I got to meet some really groovy people and witness sunsets to die for, the Whitsundays has been one of the best experiences I have ever had the fortune to do.
The boat I sailed on, if you're curious, was called "Summertime".
I hope everyones all good and that Work is treating you well. I may have to get some guidance when I return as I've pretty much forgotten the meaning of the "W" word.
peas out peops,
Niall
