Round The World Trip 2006
Melbourne is a pretty cool place...
So far we (Me & my mate Jon) have stayed at the Urban Central Hostel in South West Melbourne after a 9 hour flight from Hong Kong that arrived around 9:30pm.
On Friday, after a much needed nights sleep, the time had come to pick up the car, which would be our home for the next 6 weeks. After we walked the wrong way up a long road, we decided to take a tram back to the bottom end of the main road. Our car had a few problems we overcame, but I think the battered look of our Ford Falcon StationWagon (Estate) will add to the authenticity of our trip up the East Coast.
So far we've been round the Great Ocean Road, getting as far as Apollo Bay on the first night and camping...
(Well Jon braved the tent after recovering it from a collapse whilst we were out for dinner. I took the car which is a perfect size for my new sleeping bag and foam mat!)
But that was all yesterday...
Today, we left Apollo Bay after a large fry-up at the local Cafe. After a walk through the rainforest, we carried onto a little Wildlife "Park", basically, a load of Oz Animals in cages, but still we got to see Roo's, Wallaby's, Wombats and Koalas for real instead of on a T.V!
Then it was onto the 12 Apostles and Port Campbell.
We turned northwards and headed towards Ballarat.
It was a little late when we arrived and therefore a little dead, so we just went for a coffee before driving onto Melbourne.
Now we're back in Urban Central... At the moment sharing a room with some homicidal gay maniac.
It's a little unsettling... I think there's no doubt we'll be moving on tomoz after a day out in Melbourne!
Until then,
Peas out girls and boys!
