Pink, green, yellow maybe even blue pandas . . .
Arrived in chengdu. Lots of pointing to my panda charm, drawing pics and copying chinese symbols into my little book with a few bus rides later, resulted in us checking into a youth hostel, finding out wolong is still closed with no pandas so we were on a bus to the panda breeding base, so seeing the pandas in enclosures.
It was about 4 when we got there. Their tea time, so they were all up stuffing their big fat giant panda faces with bamboo. I say they were up, such lazy things, they looked more like couch potatoes when eating. We saw loadsa pandas, I was all very excited.
Red pandas were also here, I didn't even know they existed, they are endangered about 5000 left I believe, they are a cross between a racoon and a panda, and also look like a fox. Amazing creatures to watch.
From what I can gather there are about 1500 giant pandas left. At least that is what the museum was saying. It was in such beautiful surroundings and oh I was so pleased.
We venture back and did washing, food, wandered etc, the usual, I stayed up making the route for the parentals coming to thailand while laura had an early night. So handy having wifi in the room.
The water is getting softer and cleaning me hair more, so my hair is incredibly poodle like.xx
