Woke up early this morning (630 or so) and headed down to the Piazza San Marco to see if I could get some pictures of the square without the typical throngs of tourists.. Lo and behold, managed to see the square when there was maybe a dozen tourists around. Beautiful, the way it should be. Went back to the room and snoozed. When we got up, after breakfast, we headed to the same piazza to see the basilica.. Much busier! The basilica was very beautiful, even if I followed the rules and didn't take any pictures. :P Headed down to the Ponte di Rialto before wandering the twisty streets of Venice. A very different city.
