Made the trek to Marseilles today. During our stopover in Montpellier, learned that the football team there had captured the French national championship the night before, so a big parade and celebration was underway in town. We didn't have time to go check it out, but it was really awesome to see (on tv) the city celebrate its first national championship.

Football's a religion over here. And that's really really cool to see in person. Barcelona was absolutely mad with football fever, and seeing the Germans at the hostel mourn the loss of Munich to Chelsea in penalties shows you how much the sport means to them.
