1230. On the train out of Barcelona, bound for Figuer-Vilafant, France, where we snag a train to Montpellier within twenty minutes of our arrival. We have a 2 hour stop over in Montpellier, where we hope to snag our tickets for the next leg of our trip (after Marseilles, in a few days). From Montpellier, we head to Marseilles, where we have a hostel for two nights before continuing on to Florence.
This is our first daytime train trek, the first time we'll see the countryside of Spain and France, apart from the few minutes after the Gare d'Austerlitz, and before Barcelona's other train station. The train's crowded and Pierre's snoozing while I keep an eye out for the thieves that we've heard are present on every train.
We're moving at a pretty good pace, 130 kph or so, moving out of the suburbs. The train is fast and fairly quiet, one of Europe's many TGV, high speed, trains. Catch you on the flip side.
