So march has started, and hasn't really gone as I had planned. My goals for this month were to knuckle down into work and not go out as much as we had been previously, but that has gone down the drain, literally. With such good, quirky and not to forget cheap bars around us, it's hard not to "go out for a few" and end up a lot worse for wear than you had imagined. Here's a quick some up of the following bars
Babushka; Cheap drinks, Karaoke Thursdays and awesome bar stuff, who now address us as the foreign ladies every time we walk in, as there is that many of us, who attend regularly. (Note to self, maybe lay low from babushka for a while, they probably think we are alcoholics.) Good atmosphere to watch the local rugby in, and try to know what you're talking about!
Stones: your typical cross between a bar and a club. Bar mode- Monday to Thursday, Sunday. Club Mode- Friday to Saturday. Pumping over played tunes and overly priced(for South Africa, still cheap as chips) vodka's on the weekend, it's the nearest thing I've got to our famous LOVE2LOVE. Good place to go if you're wanting your drinks bought for you all night. Shots for R10!(£1)
Rabbit hole: Your typical rock pub. Gotta be my favourite out of the lot. Sofa's, deck chairs, pool tables and grass on the floor just to name a few. Drinks here are cheap cheap cheap, with two doubles for R25(about £2.50) being the most popular. It's not for everyone though, as music is to a selected taste. If you're looking for the latest chart music, you're not going to find it here. Rock classics? You've found the perfect place.
Slug and Lettuce: Never been, will let you all know what it's like, if I ever go.
