Adventure day! Today we had a fantastic time on a tour of the island, with our eccentric guide Ngaa, a native Aitutakan with seemingly endless knowledge about the history and archeology of the island and its people. He also worked for the BBC and Channel 4 on the seasons of Shipwrecked, and on the American series Survivor (both tv shows which we love!) as their survival expert so was able to give us lots of fascinating insights into the shows! We travelled around via 4WD and visited an ancient sacred site, as well as the Maungapu peak, the highest on the island, with amazing panoramic views.

In the afternoon we went swimming and snorkelling in the lagoon in front of our resort, as well as a lovely dip in the pool. We also cycled to the nearby Rireis store for some delicious ice cream. An evening walk along the beach at sunset and some nice fish and chips ended another perfect day! :)
