Tuesday 17th August
What an absolutely amazing day! Today was definitely the second best day of our lives (second to our wedding day!). We spent the day on an uninhabited tropical island called Honeymoon Island, almost completely alone and with the beautiful sea-green lagoon to swim and snorkel in.
A water taxi dropped us off on the island and we spent some time exploring. Two of our favourite tv shows (Survivor and Shipwrecked) were filmed on these islands, and we were not disappointed to spend time here and see how stunning and remote they really are. We also swam over to a really beautiful island called Maina Island, where we snorkelled and saw really beautiful tropical fish. We ate a picnic we had packed from the lovely local Koru Cafe (which included a still-chilled banana milkshake, and chocolate cake - real paradise food!). We spent lots of time in the beautifully clear water (as clear as mineral water!) and really enjoyed relaxing. At the end of the day after returning to Etu Moana we enjoyed a spectacular sunset just steps away from our villa, with the resort cat (called No-oh) who celebrated by catching a fish directly from the sea!
We have included just one pic from the day, and will be sure to upload more photos when our internet connection allows (probably in New Zealand).
A chilled relaxing day ahead awaits us tomorrow! :)
