Today was such a lazy day. We woke up just in time to run down for breakfast and then took a walk through the rainforest part of the island. It was ok, but nothing all that special. We carried on walking to the different parts of the island, seeing the different beaches and stuff. I wasn't feeling all that great so went back to the room to lay down. Claudia and Jade had burnt the day before so were happy to come back and chill in the room too. They chatted and I had a sleep (riveting reading this!) and I felt much better when I woke up. I had a quick bit of lunch and we went down to the beach for a bit of sunbathing. While we'd been in the room, the rest of the group who'd been sailing for 3 nights had joined us on the island. You could tell without even seeing them. The loud Americans and Canadians were back and playing in the pool. Jesus, if I heard "Whooooo" and "YEEEAAAHHH" once, I heard it a thousand times. I know they were only having a good time, but there were a lot of families and couples round the pool - I'd have been well pissed off!! Perhaps I'm just getting old? I just laid on my sunlounger on the beach, staring out across the sea at the neighbouring islands.
We'd been there a while, and then it struck wine o'clock in preparation for tonight's BBQ and pool party. A few others joined us in the room and we sank a fair bit of wine. Using our discretion obviously! We joined everyone at the other end of the island after filling up our water bottles with wine (classy I know, but I'm a budget traveller and needs must). We ate the BBQ food during which time I managed to eat part of my plastic fork, don't ask how although it was quite amusing. I washed it down with my included glass of wine and carried on regardless. I was then one if the first in the pool and I was soon joined by our original group, plus a few others. We were having a great time, despite being dunked and drowned. They managed to throw the tour manager John in the pool, fully clothed, and then were challenged to get Horse the driver in the pool. This was harder than it looked as he's not called Horse for no reason. They dragged him to the edge of the pool but he broke free and ran back and hugged a tree Baloo stylee, gripping on for dear life. He lost eventually and got chucked in too, followed by a massive cheer and round of applause. We were all just dicking about and then most of the new lot came and joined us - that's when we decided it was time to leave! Read into that what you will, but you can probably imagine. I was freezing anyway and had finished my water bottle of wine so it was timed about right really. On the walk back we saw 2 kangaroos, one of which had a little Joey in its pouch. Unfortunately I'd had a few to drink and when I tried talking to them, they bounced off. I sat in the lobby charting for a bit before heading to bed. All my other roommates were back and asleep - climbing on to the top bunk, in the dark, whilst pissed, without waking anyone, is something I'm actually quite proud to have achieved!....
