Today was a free day in Surfers to do what we wanted. Crystal got up early to go kayaking and we all stayed in bed. It got to about 9.40am when Jade announced what the time was (breakfast finished at 10). Cue military rolls out of bed and chucking some clothes on quick. It was chaos as we were half asleep, but very funny! Breakfast was done, we came back, got showered and ready and walked down to the beach. In theory that should be a quick and simple process. In reality it takes over an hour!
Our hotel was only a few blocks from the beach which was handy for someone as lazy as me. We were all up for sunbathing this morning but it was so bloody windy we had trouble walking never mind anything else! We had a long walk all along the beach, doing the touristy things like writing in the sand, taking pictures. We bumped into a couple of people along the way and finally ended up at the shops. Jade was looking for a dress and a top to wear out tonight. God, damn, she knows how to shop! My legs were aching, my back was aching, I was hungry! Almost like a small child. But I stuck with it and didn't moan for a change. Luckily we were all hungry eventually and after walking to various places (which were all too expensive) we walked aaaallllll the way back to where we'd started, to go to McDonalds. Ffs! I got my happy meal though so I was content. We'd bumped into Shane and Krishma round town and Krishma wanted to shop this afternoon - I point blank refused to do anymore, as did Fiona, but Jade happily obliged. I don't know how she does it! So we dropped her off and Fiona and I went back to the hotel. She went for a swim and in fear of catching hyperthermia, I sat on a lounger instead. It was in the shade, and windy. Not ideal really but I persevered. They went off to the jacuzzi after a while but as I was wrapped in my towel, I decided to stay put. I lasted maybe an hour enjoying the peace and quiet but then I had to sit inside, it was too cold. Fiona had the room key so I waited until she came back before we went up to the room. Jade came back shortly after and we all sat chilling and started drinking. Tonight we had VIP entry into Sin City nightclub (s*** hole) and it was ladies night so drinks for ladies were free (ignore the fact it's a s*** hole).
We leisurely got ready, listening to music, doing the girly thing. We'd also nicked Robs rugby ball from the pool and decided to take ransom pictures all round the apartment for use at a later date. Very childish, but very funny at the time. A lot of the others had gone to Draculas tonight but I was on tour with Rhys - more than enough camp comedy - so we decided not to.
It was getting to about 9pm and we hadn't eaten so we knocked for the boys to head into town to eat before we went out. This was slightly delayed by the fact they were all sat in their room, working their way through a bottle of tequila! None of them had showered either but it's amazing how quick they move when 3 women start nagging! We all got on the tequila for a bit while they were getting ready. Finally, we made it to town. Just as restaurants were shutting. Awesome, good work guys. We ended up having slices of pizza from a shop along from the club, so classy but it filled a hole. So off we went to the nightclub. I think I managed to stay 2 hours? And that was pushing it. What a dive. The free drinks were infact free, but so weak and full of fizzy that I got to a point where my stomach was so bloated I was worried my belt was going to cut off the blood supply to my lower body. Fiona had already gone home and I was soon gonna do the same. s*** music and so full of people you could hardly move. Felt like I was back home, eurgh! Plus the loud Anericans and Canadians were there by now, that was the last straw. I didn't need to see or hear any of that! So I walked back to the hotel with Jade and Rosie, finally getting into bed, knowing we had to be up in about 4 hours.......
