We had our bags to the coach by 5.50 this morning and then stuffed breakfast. Today was a travelling day, much harder now we have a full bus. Our first stop was Cardwell, a little village on the coast which suffered quite badly from cyclone Yasi in February last year. It was a cat 5 cyclone and you can still see damage that's left.
We then had rules and regs read to us (heard it all before) and chilled for the rest of the way to our lunch stop in Townsville. We picked up supplies here for our nights on Daydream Island. John told us we couldn't take alcohol onto the island but there was a word in the dictionary called discretion! Cue buying a box of wine, taking the bag out and concealing it in my rucksack. Sorted. We also had a macdonalds which was awesome!
We then watched Fools Gold or slept for the next few hours begone we arrived at Airlie Beach to drop the sailors off who were sailing for the next few days. We dropped them off and said goodbye before we set off to catch our ferry over to daydream island. We were welcomes to the 4.5 star resort with shell necklaces (yea, that was it) but John had left it as a surprise about the free wifi as he loves seeing everyone's excited faces! I was then faced with a toss up of free wifi or socialising! I juggled the two but we're here for 3 nights so it's all good!
We had dinner, which was nice as we're a smaller group again now so have us a chance to talk to new people that have joined. Some of us took a walk round the resort, helped by the golf buggies, took pictures with the random statues on the crazy golf course and then sat in the lobby chatting for a while.
We have a new roommate called Claudia and she's from Canada. She likes to talk. She likes to talk when you're trying to go to sleep. Fabulous. Tonight wasn't an early night!!.....
