Today was a free day for us as we weren't doing any trips so we had a lay in after the others had gone out and strolled down to breakfast about 9.30. Awesome. We ate at leisure and then took a walk down the promenade, round the harbour and to the shops and shopping mall. Was so nice to go at our own pace for a change. After Jade had made me do laps of the mall, we went back to the hotel to totally unpack our bags and sort them out, and do some washing. I'd lost my phone charger and travel adaptor a few days ago, at least I thought I had. I'd been really cross at myself since and then low and behold, Jade produces them from her case! God knows how or why they were in there but I gave her a lecture about stealing my stuff (in a nice way of course)!
We got changed eventually and went down to the food court and night markets. Spent a few hours down there and came home for an early night. My legs really ached and my feet were sore but was so nice to have a chilled day to ourselves!
We were getting ready for bed when we heard familiar squeezing in the corridor - the girls were back from the hospital. We went out to say hi and poor Tanias in her wheelchair after her surgery but was glad to be out of Alice Springs hospital and over with the rest of us. It was good to see them though, even if they were very hyper and excited! That all soon calmed down though and we went to bed, ready for another 5am start tomorrow!.....
