I woke up this morning wondering who was in our lodge and what state it was in. I could hear people back and forth to the bathroom but managed to get in when it was quiet and get showered. It was absolutely pissing down outside which was crap as we had our 4 Wheel Drive today. We ran to the Dingo Bar for breakfast, getting sufficiently wet, and ran back again, doing the same. No one was looking forward to today at all, which was bad considering how much we'd paid for it and how lovely the island was menna be.
We got back to the lodge and dried off, by which time the kids were up and back in the playground, doing leftover tequila shots. At about 9am. I'm starting to wonder if this is the first time some of them have been away without their parents? They looked like s*** but were still going. We were wondering if the tour was on or off at this point as the rain was so heavy. We waited at the pick up point and were eventually collected and told the tour was going ahead. It was shortly after this I realised there actually was a god and that karma does exist.
We boarded our 20 seater 4WD truck and started along the track. Now I dont know what these guys thought 4WD involved, but they seemed shocked and annoyed that it was so bumpy and bouncy?! All the loud girls were on our truck and sat up the back. They had to have the air con up as they were feeling so sick. I smiled inside whilst thinking to myself, drinking last night and shots this morning wasn't so big and clever eh?! Some parts were so bumpy we were almost bunny hopping and they were all clinging on screaming, trying not to be sick. Love it. We stopped at Lake McKenzie for a swim but although it had stopped raining, it was still a bit cold for a wimp like me. So I paddled and waded and sat watching the girls feel sorry for themselves. We had a BBQ lunch included with beer and wine, which of course they couldn't drink. All the more for us. Happy days. Next stop was Central Station, after another short truck ride. Lunch hadn't made them feel much better so now they had a hangover and lunch to deal with. We had an hours walk through the rainforest when we got there which was pretty. We then had a drive to get to 70 mile beach, where we drove onto and along the beach, stopping half way for wine and cake. Bit of a bizarre thing to do but quite a few were doing it so it's obviously all the rage. At the end of the beach we caught the ferry back to the mainland so we could make our way down to Noosa. I just put my iPod on and smiled to myself as I watched those who had been out last night, trying to sleep on a 4WD trip. Hilarious, no control over their heads, they were going everywhere! Bless them.
We got to Noosa to check in and found we were staying in apartments. I had one with Jade and Fiona and it was amazing!! We had a kitchen, living room, separate bedroom. We were so excited to be able to get ready for dinner in loads of space, then come back and chill, watching tv on the sofa in our pjs. Just what we needed!.....
