Nic's & Matt's Trip
Well, still working! Survived a month. Have finally started to get to grips with some of the terms and am now SOE, SMS, RBS and ERPing like a true pro.
We have been rubbish and not managed to take any pictures yet!! I have had emails galore asking where the pics are - I promise I will get myself sorted and start taking cameras out with me!! To those of you who refuse to believe I am here, you are right. I am actually living in the toilets in Finnegans Wake as discussed with Anna.
They seem to have festivals all the time here - it was the Surry Hills festival a couple of weeks ago (I live in Surry Hills), then last week it was the Sydney Italian festival and the Sydney food and wine festival and next week its the jazz festival!! At least it gives you something to do on the weekend other than shopping which is becoming costly and addictive!!
The weather is unfortunately trying to mimic the UK and it has been raining cats and dogs the past week which is delightful!! Never mind!!
Everyone here is very much looking forward to the World Cup, and the excitement is reaching fever pitch (ok, only in my office but never mind!). However, it is very annoying being in a country where no one seems to understand that England, Scotland, Wales and N Ireland are all separate countries. A girl in the office told a Welsh guy that he was from England and didn't believe us when we said that they were different. Also, I tried to buy a St Georges cross the other day but was instead given a Union Jack. When I tried to return it the shop owner didnt have any St Georges and wouldn't give me a refund, to which I got very annoyed. As I was leaving I overheard him muttering "Everybody wants the Georges Crosses, whats wrong with the Jack?"...Hmm.
Anyway, back to work...til the next time
