We had a very nice sleep in this morning until 7.30am. It was such a nice feeling knowing we didn’t have to pack up the camper today. We had a leisurely breakfast and put our washing on. It is also nice to be able to hang our washing on the line and not having to pay from dryers, which can be quite expensive. The girls were off to the shops this morning, before the boys took the cars to get serviced. There are so many shopping centres around; it seems ever suburb has their own set of shops and fast food places. After getting back and having a quick lunch, the boys were off to service the car. The president of the WA R & S Club told the boys they could go to his place to service the car, as he had the space and a good set up for it – plus we don’t think the Caravan Park would like it if they were changing oil here.
While the boys were gone, Kelley & Will went for a swim in the pool, however the water was freezing so we only put our feet in, and it was enough to cool off. Will then went down for a sleep – the first daytime sleep in a bed he’s had since he left home. It’s a bit warm in the tent, but he slept well. The boys were back not long later and we were quickly on our way to the meeting point for the Chrysler Cruise. We met up with other R & S Valliant’s as well as many members of the Charger Club, who had organised this cruise. We started in Lathlain and then drove on the edge of the city, down to Fremantle and all the way back up to North Beach and then met up at the Camberwell Park club rooms again. Neil was driving and Kelley had the list of written instructions in case we got lost or separated. Typically, we got stuck at the first set of lights and had to fend for ourselves for the first part of it, until Jean and David got in front and took off the pressure. Soon after a WA member led the way. Cottesloe Beach was beautiful and the road travels all up the coast of it. The cruise took over an hour and was a great way to see Perth. We had dinner again at the club rooms, this time catered for, and we even won a prize in the raffle – a bottle of wine.
