We had another sleep in this morning courtesy of our heater. We were woken up by William singing ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’. We were up and having brekkie while the boys rode their bikes around – the previous afternoon they had found a rather steep hill to ride down – the problem was there was a speed bump at the bottom which would’ve sent him flying over the handle bars. He tried it once, but Kelley intercepted him with a tackle. This morning however he managed to sneak up there without us seeing him. Kelley caught sight of him as he was halfway down. Luckily he nailed it and didn’t flip over. He even made it back to the camper without having to put his feet down – the smile on his face was massive. Kelley thinks she had a minor heart attack.
Anyway, we were all packed up and ducked into town to fix up the internet issues, thankfully the lady in Australia Post sorted us out and we are now back online. Neil went to the Information Centre and got William a poster with reptiles all over it – it kept him amused all day in the car.
We headed out of town and travelled through many small towns – a lot of wineries and cidery’s along the way. We found out that Manjimup was the birthplace of the Pink Lady apples and a town up the road called Donnybrook is the birthplace of the Granny Smith. We passed hundreds of acres of apple trees as well as pears and other fruit. It must get cold!
We decided to take a different way to Perth, as we are going to go to Bunbury with the valiant club, we went via Collie, Williams and Armadale. We were stuck in traffic on the Tonkin Highway which ran up the back of Perth and next to the airport. We finally made it to the Kingsway Tourist Park. After booking in and getting directions to our site, we pulled into the site allotted. I don’t know how to describe it. Firstly, we had a view right next to the main road (Wanneroo Road) – we were literally 30m from the road – its now 9.45pm and its still busy and noisy. Secondly, we had chosen this park due to having ensuite sites. The ensuites are absolutely disgusting. They are all dirty, and have a water leaking out of either the taps, drain, pipes or toilet. Steven & Tamara’s had dirty water leaking out of the bottom of the toilet bowl. We went into the shops to buy cleaning product’s and shower curtains to try and fix it up. Kelley tried to clean the shower and was horrified by the colour of the water coming off the wall. Not to mention about 25 daddy long legs that were washed down the drain. No amounts of Pine-O-Clean wipes made the sink clean. We can’t even turn the cold tap as it spins the whole spout. The worst part is that ours is the best of the 3 ensuites we have – poor Steven and Tamara’s is the worst. We all decided that we will stay here tonight, but will pack up tomorrow and seek a refund and go elsewhere. The lady on Reception is a very abrupt lady, so hopefully we get a refund.
