I haven't had many chances to blog throughout the week, due to the website being down, but I'll recount my experiences so far.
After an initial day of lectures at Stevenson College, we were granted a free day on Saturday.
Unfortunately, me and my roommate slept in until about 2pm...
When we finally decided to wake up I headed to Rose Street and listened to a few street performers before shopping around in a Whisky & Cigar shop.
Afterwards, I headed down Lothian Road in search of the arthouse theater I had heard about the day before. The theater was quite impressive, with an immaculate interior and a list of films I thought I'd never get the chance to see on the big screen. I stayed and saw Pierrot le Fou, a popular Godard (and one I had not seen).
I got quite lost on the way home, but enjoyed this, as I felt I was experiencing the true spirit of the city. The pubs were overflowing into the streets with a mix of jolly locals and inebriated tourists, singing along to whatever the resident entertainer was crooning.
